Honoring Gonca’s Final Wish 

Gonca fought cancer with a strength and grace that inspired everyone around her. She went through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, and every difficult turn of this journey with hope in her heart. Despite everything she endured, her condition suddenly declined, and we lost her today. Before all of this, Gonca shared one wish with us: 

If something happened to her, she wanted to be buried in her homeland, Turkey. 

We were hoping to take her back on her feet once she won this battle, but life had other plans. The least we can do now is honor her wish and bring her home to rest. 

International repatriation and burial costs are extremely high, and as a family we’re doing everything we can to manage them. All donations will be used directly to bring Gonca to Turkey and ensure she is laid to rest as she wanted.

My wife has been fighting cancer for the past year and a half with a quiet strength that most people will never witness. She’s endured chemotherapy, a major surgery, and months of side effects and setbacks. Through it all, she has faced everything with grace, courage, and hope.

But last month, everything changed.

A complication from her first surgery led to a serious health crisis. Since then, she has been hospitalized for nearly 90 days and spent 3 weeks in physical therapy. The most recent CT scan showed that the cancer has returned.

Treatment will begin again with a new method, but she can no longer live independently.

As her husband, I’ve been by her side every single day. I haven’t been able to work. We’ve done everything we can to stay on our feet, but we’re now at a breaking point.

We couldn’t pay our rent. Our bills have piled up. And all we want is for her to heal, to rest, and to feel safe again.

This is the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do; asking for help.

To protect her privacy during this sensitive time, we’re keeping her name confidential.

However, this campaign is managed by me (S.Y.), and the funds will go directly toward:

• Rent and utilities

• Living expenses while I provide full-time care

• Transportation and recovery needs after discharge

• Medical costs not covered by insurance

We’re not asking for much — just the chance to have a safe and peaceful home while she recovers.
