Hi, my name is Raye. I’m a single mother of three girls and a survivor of experiences that reshaped my entire life. I’m committed to turning those challenges into a foundation of safety and self-sufficiency for my family.
Since the end of December in 2024, I’ve been rebuilding my life after leaving the now former Straitway community of Kentucky East and moving back home to Texas, starting over completely from zero, financially, emotionally, and physically. In that time, I’ve completed my education, launched two passion-driven ventures, and worked tirelessly to create a stable foundation for my daughters. These businesses are not just sources of income, they’re part of my healing, and the future we’re building.
I’ve done this while restoring my mind from experiences that could have easily broken me.
Now, I’m asking for your help to take the next step in our journey: securing our own home and funding my businesses so they can provide the stability my daughters deserve. We left Straitway before all the recent publicity and waves of support for those who’ve left, and we’re still finding our way. I’ve taken the time to get things moving by pouring my all into rebuilding, but I’m not afraid to admit that we still need help to truly stabilize and move forward.
For close to a decade, I gave my all to a place I believed in, my time, my skills, my energy, and my trust. I gave all that I had, just as I was instructed to do, thinking I was doing the will of our Creator. In return, I walked away with very little to show for it. I lost several years I can’t get back. But I didn’t lose my mind, and I didn’t lose my will to rebuild.
What we really need now is our own home. A space of our own would mean my daughters can have consistent routines, privacy, and a sense of belonging. It would mean they can decorate their rooms, do their schoolwork without interruption, and know that they have a place that will always be theirs.
For me, it would mean having the mental space to continue building our future, managing my work, handling our daily life, and being able to provide structure and peace for my children, creating entirely new and healthy experiences for our nervous systems. A stable home base is the foundation that will allow everything else to fall into place: consistent income, continued healing, and the ability to fully show up for the responsibilities I already have in place.
When you give, you’re helping fill one of the most essential needs we have right now: a secure and stable home. When you help us get established, you’re also helping me continue the work I do to empower others who have come out of harmful environments, creating a legacy of resilience not just for my daughters, but for other women and families who need to see that this is absolutely possible.
This GoFundMe goal is $8,500, a number I’ve crafted with intention so that every penny has a purpose. These funds will go directly toward:
-Legal assistance in completing paperwork and administrative steps for my daughters so they have everything they need for school, travel, and future opportunities.
-Medical care to ensure my daughters and I can receive consistent medical and dental care, without delays, interruptions, or limits. This includes covering costs while we complete those important administrative steps so they have access to the providers and services they need long-term.
-Funding to build and establish credit for the future, creating the financial stability we need to qualify for larger opportunities like homeownership.
-Car repairs so we can travel to essential opportunities reliably.
-Ongoing therapy for us all to continue the deep healing that allows us all to show up fully for one another.
-Strategic investments that will help our household remain steady while my work grows.
Every contribution, whether large or small, moves us closer to a future of stability and opportunity. You’re not just helping us get a home, you’re investing in a foundation for generational healing and financial freedom that breaks a cycle that has held my family back for so long.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for sharing it, and for standing with us in this chapter of rebuilding. To say I'm grateful is an understatement. Your generosity and belief in what’s possible for me and my girls means more than any words can express.
