TL;DR I have MS, I have trouble walking or being on my feet very long, help me buy a wheelchair.

My story: I started having odd symptoms about five years ago: numbness/tingling, chronic pain, vision problems. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong & dismissed my concerns. In the spring of 2020, I developed numbness in my face, and over the following months, I would eventually developed numbness/tingling in my hands, legs & feet and began struggling with my balance and coordination. I would adopt using mobility aids, as walking became more and more difficult.

I finally found a doctor who took my concerns seriously, and in the last few months of 2020, the tests showed that I had multiple sclerosis. As it is now, mobility and fatigue are the two biggest obstacles I face. Simple tasks like washing dishes or doing laundry have become almost impossible, and leaving the house takes an intense amount of planning. A simple doctor’s appointment can take days to recover from.

something that will help me with my mobility and independence is a wheelchair. I have been looking at power chairs, which start at about $2000. I’ve found several in that price range that would be perfect for my needs.

since my birthday is January 24th, I thought I would start this campaign with the hope that anyone who might want to send me a birthday gift could help me gain a bit more independence and comfort. I look forward to the day when I can spend a day out with my family, whether it’s at the zoo or grocery shopping.
