Tansi!! my name is Geraldine or Chic. Our group started a street ministry in MedicineHat so that we can care for our street folk with food, clothing, blankets hygiene products, etc., however due to a series of unfortunate events, I no longer have a vehicle available so I can continue our daily ministry. We work as a group, however, being the founder of the street ministry because of no vehicle, I’m not able to get out there on a daily basis to provide our street folk with the necessary supplies to assist them for survival on the street. As the team lead, I am putting a lot of expectations and tasks onto our other members, even though they are willing and available, They also have their family life, etc.. unfortunately I am not able to afford to buy a vehicle and I’m not looking for anything brand new. I am however, looking for a van or a truck for $5000 or less. Ideally, I would like the vehicle to not have any future issues and definitely not interested in buying a lemon. I am reaching out to the community in hopes to raise the funds that will allow me to be independently continue the services into our community. Our group, the Niitsitapi Kookums, was founded in 2022 and from that we created a street ministry. We do patrols in the evenings to assist and help our street folk with food, clothing, etc. and we also watch out for our community as a whole to keep everyone safe, including our street folk. I understand that these are extremely hard times so any help is appreciated even if it’s sharing this around to your friends, your family, your colleagues, your office, your club, etc. It’s important that we care for each other in our community as we are all Hatters that has our own advantage of being in MedicineHat and that starts with community and caring for each other as well as compassion!!!
