Wheels For Max

Donation protected
Max is a 13 year old boy who has a rare congenital disorder called Arthrogryposis. The condition affects Max’s joints and muscle tissues, making it difficult for him to move around on his own. Max is unable to walk or feed himself, and also has neurological disabilities that cause him to have difficulty communicating. Max has endured many surgeries and hospitalizations in his short lifetime.

His frequent trips to Primary Children’s Hospital keep his doctors and family extra busy. A simple cold virus can easily send Max to the hospital for a week with pneumonia.

Because of his limited mobility, Max’s parents carry him around a lot. Without a wheelchair accessible van, Max's mom, who spends the most time taking him to and from doctor appointments, lifts him in and out of their current vehicle. As you might imagine, this constant lifting and carrying of a teenage boy is wreaking havoc on her back.

Max and his parents are some of the coolest and most hard working, kind, hilarious, generous people we know. Max wicked sense of humor, and delights in teasing and laughing with his friends and family. He is an instantaneous friend to almost anyone who takes the time to get to know him. He is eternally in love with all things Disney, and can often be found with a Disney story book or DVD case in his hand. If you want to get Max excited, ask him how he feels about Disneyland!
Max is a joy to everyone he comes in contact with.

With that being said we are raising money to buy a handicap accessible van for Max and his family. As you may have guessed, we need to raise a large amount of money - upwards of $30-40k. There are so many deserving people who have need this time of year, I know, but if you have extra, we would, from the bottom of our hearts, appreciate your consideration in giving toward this fundraiser.

If you don't have extra to give, a really effective and free way to help would be to share this post with your friends and family. Share it on your feed, share it in your conversations. And if you have contact with a business who may be able to help, please get me in contact with them.

Thanks so much!

We will be making and selling cookies for the next month to raise money to donate this holiday season. Every penny they raise will be donated!

Thanks so much for supporting them in their desire to give this Christmas season. They really appreciate it!
