Brian's Wheelchair Ramp and Outdoor Space

Lifelong Copenhagen native Brian Sheehan graduated Copenhagen Central School in 2000. If you have the pleasure of knowing Brian then you know he is a down earth, funny, kind, and amazing father to his three children. Brian was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2011. Over the last two years his condition has made mobility more challenging, to the point where day to day life has gotten hard for Brian. Recently, Brian has purchased a power chair that has given some kind of freedom back to him. The gain in mobility has raised his spirits and brought back joy. I remember shortly after he got the power chair watching him zoom after his daughter on her scooter with his oldest son running next to him. The smile on Brian's face is something I don't think I would see again. Unfortunately, the only access into Brian's home is through a gravel parking area and stairs into his home. Brian has checked into numerous grants and funding through a couple different state organizations, but the funding for wheelchair ramps are very limited. This where we can come together as community to help one of our own. So let's help out Brian and his kids by making their life more enjoyable with less limitations so they can enjoy a "normal" life and love as a family. On behalf of Brian Sheehan we are looking to raise funding to help make Brian's home wheelchair accessible. The goal is to raise funding to purchase the needed material to build a proper wheelchair ramp into Brian's house. If we exceed goal he also mention putting pavers down in the gravel so his powerchair doesn't get stuck, moving the swinging of his door so it opens in the correct directions, and stacking the washer & dryer to make room in the entrance. Personally, I would love to see a couple of raised chair height garden beds for Brian as he loves to garden.
