Hi all. Many of you know my sister and her family, the Finks. I'm sure you have also followed their journey with their daughter Makenzie for over the last year and a half.  My niece had surgery in June of 2017 to lengthen her femur and since then, due to things out of their control, she has had multiple surgeries from complications and continues to use a walker/wheelchair to get around. Kenzie's future is still very unsure but will include more surgeries and with no date known as to when Kenzie will be able to walk on her own again. With physical therapy 3 days a week and many other weekly appointments, Marci has not been able to work as each time Makenzie has had surgery, she has needed days for recovery. Needless to say, the whole family’s has been affected. 

The purpose of me doing this would be to raise money so that the Fink family can purchase a jogging wheelchair. Last year, Kenzie’s goal for this summer was to not only walk on her own, but to run a ‘color run’. Now they are still unsure when that will happen but still want to be able to provide her the experience. Since moving to Florida in August of 2018 they have been loving the warm weather and all of the added activities that come with it. One of those favorite activities would be getting out on trails running/biking/exploring. Standard wheelchairs make this fairly hard since they can be bulky to maneuver. Running wheelchairs are a great help to get the whole family out and about. However, they are not covered by insurance. I have heard the Fink's talk about how great this would be to have and how they hope to save up the money to buy one soon. I thought with today being Veterans Day and with the Holiday's coming up there is no better way and no better family to help out!
