Saskatchewan: Who are we? Where are we going?

Confused about Saskatchewan? You're not alone.

For many, the province we live in today does not feel like the province we've grown to love, whether you were born and raised here or took a chance on moving into its four walls in recent years.

So what is really going on?

Before most national media corporations began gutting Saskatchewan newsrooms and resources (circa 2011), the news and information industry commissioned assets such as robust polling, with proper sample sizes, to help us better understand who we are and where we are going. Further, Saskatchewan used to have sufficient seats in Opposition for keeping the provincial government accountable and us informed, while also at least offering an alternate vision for Saskatchewan.

Those days are gone. For now anyway.

What Saskatchewan people are left with is a black hole of untrusted information about where we live and who we live with.

Instead of relying on a handful of tired Saskatchewan pundits and politicians shoving their opinions down our throats - let's determine the truth ourselves.

We need to crowdsource our own information - for example, coming together to poll Saskatchewan properly on how the true majority feel about:

- Saskatchewan's management of the COVID-19 pandemic, yesterday, today and tomorrow;
- our economy;
- our health care system;
- our K-12 school systems;
- Premier Scott Moe and the Sask Party government;
- Leader Ryan Meili and the Saskatchewan NDP Opposition;

We've posted the fundraising goal as $10,000 as we want to commission 10 questions for a sample 800 Saskatchewan residents for the best results, which as you can see in the quote is $8900, and there will be taxes on top of that (we'll post the invoice).

The money, once raised, will go directly from GoFundMe to Research Co. - we'll make sure you feel comfortable and confident with the entire process. If we can't reach our goal for some reason, the money will be refunded directly to your account. Any minimal funds overage, if there is one, will be donated to the food banks of Saskatoon and Regina. We can't offer you the poll earlier than non-donors because that violates GoFundMe's terms and conditions, but you'll be the first to know when results are released publicly because you'll get the update to your inbox as soon as we post it.

Recently, in a matter of a few days, 1600 Saskatchewan residents crowdfunded an average of $135 each - a total investment of $216,000...in the Ottawa trucker convoy, AKA nothing at all.

We only need to crowdfund $10,000 to source in-depth, trustworthy answers to real Saskatchewan questions. No matter your politics, or what results you'd like to see (and we don't know, you may hate them), you know this information is crucial to us all.

We can't know where we're going if we don't know where we are.

As we wade into Year Three of the COVID-19 pandemic, masked and socially-distanced, or not (let's find out what the majority has planned) we are more disconnected from each other than ever - let's fix that. Let's reconnect our resources as individuals in ways that can restore safe, likeminded-collectives, and the power that accompanies a unified voice.

We can do this. Let's go!
