Hi, my name is Jonah. I’m just starting college, and recently became a certified EMT. I’ve spent the last year learning how to respond to emergencies—but this one hits closer to home than any class ever could.
I’ve had family members overdose. Some survived. Some didn’t.
I know what it’s like to get that phone call. I know what it’s like to sit in a room where no one’s talking because someone you loved is never coming back. I’ve watched people I care about fade into addiction, and I’ve watched them get buried because they didn’t get help in time.
That’s why I’m raising money for This Must Be The Place—a nonprofit that gives out free Narcan kits at music festivals across the country. Narcan is a nasal spray that can reverse an opioid overdose in seconds. Just one dose can restart a heart, and bring someone back.
Each kit costs about $40 to fund. That covers the medication, training, packaging, and the team that hands it out—one person at a time. My goal is to raise $2,000, which will help fund 50 Narcan kits.
These kits don’t go to clinics or labs. They go to real people at real events, handed to someone who might be the one standing over a best friend, a sibling, or a total stranger with seconds to live.
I’m doing this because I can’t change what happened to my family, but I'm hoping I can try to stop it from happening to someone else’s.
Please donate if you can. Even a few dollars helps. And if you can’t, sharing this campaign can still save a life.
Thanks for reading.
