WGHS RESOURCE CENTRE (LEGACY PROJECT)-FINAL PHASE!
Donation protected
In Ghana, and indeed on the African continent, the name ‘Wesley Girls’ High School’ is associated with excellence, dignity, poise, brilliance, tenacity and illustriousness. These are but a few words to describe the outstanding women who have and continue to pass through this institution. From its inception in 1836 by Mrs. Harriet Wrigley, the wife of a Methodist missionary, it has grown from 25 girls to a school with over 2000 students.
A cherished Wesley Girls’ tradition is giving back to our school, especially 20 years after graduation; when our alumni gather from all corners of the world to celebrate our school and leave a legacy. We the 2002 year group, are honoured to be hosting this monumental celebration in February 2024.
Our chosen project is a multipurpose Resource Centre for the school. This seminal project is necessitated by the lack of such a key facility in our beloved school. This Resource Centre will have an auditorium, staff offices, student counselling offices as well as conference rooms. It is being undertaken by three alumni year groups: 2000, 2001 and 2002. We have taken over the mantle to take this project over the finish line and commission it next year (2024).
The final project cost is $450,000. We seek to raise $75,000 through the generous contributions of our alumni and YOU, our dear friends and loved ones. We humbly ask you to give generously, with open hearts and wallets, to bring this project to fruition. Your generosity will be supporting the holistic education of your daughter, niece, future doctor, lawyer, engineer, pharmacist, accountant, business mogul and perhaps, even Ghana’s first female president!
All funds received will be transferred en bulk to the WGHS 2002 year group’s bank account in Ghana to be used for the completion of this project.
Thank you for your generosity. It is indeed our time, and we invite you to walk with us to make this vision a reality.
