I'm honestly at a loss of words right now but I will try to explain the situation as best as I can. I am a single mother of 3 boys. I have a 13 year old, 2.5 yr old, and my 6 year old stepson. I have lived at my apartment complex now for the last almost 15 years. It would be 15 years this November. Unfortunately I'm not sure now that we are going to be able to stay that long. I recently got back from the grocery store with my caseworker, to find a 30 day eviction notice on my door. During all the years I have lived here I have taken pride in my home, no matter how little we had, I've kept it clean and tidy and been thankful to God for keeping a roof over our heads. The series of events leading up to the eviction notice is still surreal to me. On July 30th we had a HUD Inspection, which I'm familiar with. But the night before the inspection a faulty smoke detector in my oldest sons room kept alarming loudly. I had spoken to management about this one in particular causing issues before and battery was replaced. It was approximately 11 pm cst. All 3 boys were trying to sleep so I took that ONE down. There were still 3 working detectors in our apartment. The next morning, I was asleep with my youngest when the inspector came and asked my ex husband why there was no smoke detector in this bedroom, to which he replied "I don't know, I don't live here" I found out after the fact that my landlords were docked 5 points and in retaliation they issued me a 30 day eviction notice. All of my children have grew up here and even though I am going to fight this in court, I would like to eventually find a rental home for my family. I'm on a humble budget, as I have fixed income due to disability and do not know how to drive so being in town is a major convenience to me. I literally have just $100 saved up so far. If anyone could find it in their heart to help us out with first and last month's rent, security deposit and utilities, I will be FOREVER grateful! I know that God is good all the time and I have faith that He alone will bring us through this. If you have any extra change, even just a few dollars to give, it would greatly help our family and I appreciate your taking time to read this. This is basically my last hope. My prayer for my family to stay together ❤ God bless you all and Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever please feel free to contact me.
