Hi everyone! 
I have been helping Amina with her sponsorship of her 3 children ages 14, 16 and 19. I met Amina 6 years ago at an ESL class held at our church in Kitchener, Ontario. Amina's story is a hard one. She lived in a small village in Somalia and 11 years ago the rebels came through her village and killed everyone in sight. Amina was in her "house" at the time of the shootings. Her husband, grandson and other male relatives were killed. Her young children were in another part of the village and she did not know if they were alive or dead. She was encouraged by other villagers to leave with them and they headed for the Ethiopian border. They were helped with the UN and came to Canada. She is now a Canadian citizen and has been working full time at a warehouse in Kitchener. She found out through other Somalian people where her children were and that started the whole process. We have been advised by the High Commission of Canada that her children have been cleared to come to Canada. The cost for travel and documents is approximately $4,680.00 (US). So, my goal is to raise $5,500.00. Thank you so much for whatever you are able to donate.
