WFAA's Santa's Helpers is celebrating its 51st year of collecting holiday toys for underprivileged children throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth counties of Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton. Since 2014, Encore Wire has proudly participated in the drive and in 2019 we were able to raise $13,141.70 and collect 4 barrels of toys! With current conditions and restrictions, we are pivoting our fundraising to online and virtual opportunities so we can limit person-to-person contact.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a monumental impact on our community, and we are honored to have the opportunity to serve and provide hope to those who need it. Today, we ask you to partner with us so together we can ensure every child will have a gift under the tree this holiday season.
About Santa's Helpers Toy Drive:
The WFAA Santa's Helpers Toy Drive gathers toys and distributes them to 50,000 needy children around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex during the holiday season.
Over 25 community service organizations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties) are approved to distribute toys to needy children, age infant through teen. All agencies within the Santa's Helpers program are approved based on their ability to coordinate applications from needy families, access the Pieces Iris system for cross-referencing of names, and to adequately cover zip codes in areas where there is the most need.
