Community Initiative: Bring Fundi, Yamz, & Athie to Thailand

ABOUT THIS INITIATIVE: Gifting with Ripple Effects

We are bringing three Bridges for Music (a non-profit organization in Langa township, Cape Town) alumni and DJs, Fundi, Yamz, and Athie, to experience “our” Thailand and Wonderfruit this year with you all, and we need your help to make it happen!

Please watch this video and learn why supporting these DJ’s individual journeys has become so important to us.

By showing Fundi, Yamz, and Athie a piece of our world, we enable them to bring hope, aspiration, and possibilities back to theirs, become mentors, and inspire those around them to dream big in a place where people are not encouraged to do so.

Join us for this gift that will have a ripple effect in ways we can’t even imagine.

This is an initiative for all of us – a way for this community to come together and create impact in a way that only WE CAN.

PS. With your support and contribution, on Dec 10, we’ll be taking over Sing Sing Theatre (club in Bangkok) as our first community event, where Fundi, Yamz, and Athie will play for us all night long. You’ll get to exchange stories with them, hear their music, and experience their awesomeness. They’ll all be playing at Wonderfruit (!!!) – date/time/stage to be announced soon! It’ll be a career changing moment for them, and we hope to see you front rowing with us.

Let’s bring them to Thailand and Wonderfruit together!

**All contributions from this campaign will go towards covering the travel expenses of this trip. Everything beyond that will be donated to Bridges for Music and put towards future travel experiences for alumni, and the after school program for children in Langa – designed to help get them off the street so they can learn about music and mindfulness at a young age.

ABOUT BRIDGES FOR MUSIC

Bridges for Music is a non-profit organization that empowers talent from underserved communities by putting them through a 6-month program that teaches DJing, production, entrepreneurship, and mindfulness, then facilitates their access to income generating jobs. Bridges for Music is also the force behind Ubuhlanti, an AfrikaBurn camp, community, and music stage.
