Let's help our community teachers!

The teachers strike is leaving many folks in our neighborhood with no pay! While other striking workers could receive strike pay for picketing, the Alberta Teacher's Association (ATA) is unable to pay any strike pay. So let's support our neighborhood teachers!

All donations will be provided directly to teachers who live or teach in Westmount who sign up to be a recipient. All teachers at Westglen school will automatically be signed up as recipients, but can opt out if they choose. Any teacher who is on strike and lives within the Westmount community can sign up to be a recipient. Donations will be provided to recipients either as a monetary donation or grocery gift certificates, attempting to be as fair as possible to all recipients.

Donors please donate whatever you can! No donation is to small or too large! As a parent who will receive financial support from the government for my child during the strike, I will be donating all of that to teachers in my kids' lives!

How do you sign up to be a recipient? Contact me using the "contact organizer" button further down on this page. List your name, address, and what school you teach at. We will verify that you are a teacher and live in Westmount. Funds will be distributed evenly amongst those who sign up.

Teachers, you do so much to support our kids, let us help support you through this tough time!
