Welcome to Westgate Baptist Church. The only Baptist Church in the Manningham area of Bradford providing Worship, Weddings and Funerals. This church was founded in 1753 making it a whopping 271 years old. The building needs constant upkeep due to its age and we are hoping to renovate the kitchen, Sunday school areas, church roof and internet facilities as a main priority so that we can continue to provide a place of worship.

The church has an ageing congregation and Westgate Baptist Church needs to advertise to a changing community. Home, hospital visits, cards and flowers to the poorly are integral to the members of Westgate Baptist Church as are monthly newsletter updates to keep those who are housebound still feel involved with the church and friends.

We are fortunate to have new people attending all the time, from overseas students to work transfers into the area. We would like to expand the Sunday school attendance by funding more activities each Sunday and in the school holidays but to do this we needs funds.

We need to provide more arts and crafts materials and take the children and families on day trips to expand their knowledge and create interest in geography, history, the arts and environmental issues.

Westgate Baptist Church used to have community groups but due to Covid these had to stop. We would like to start these groups again such as ‘Holiday at Home’ where the elderly in the area can enjoy different activities in the summer holidays.

Westgate also raises money for MacMillan Nurses, Marie Curie, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Christian Aid.

We would like to start the target fundraiser at £20k with updates as to how the funds have been used and any extensions to the target due to new projects. Please help as much as you can.
