Hi, its Steve here. As you know, 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Gleason Stage 9 Metastatic Prostate Cancer (Stage 3 /4) However I am happy to say that my ongoing treatment is managing this condition, and although incurable, all is presently under control. As we have found out late last year the wonderful Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy was also tragically diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. As part of his campaign to raise awareness of this disastrous condition, Chris Hoy has initiated 'Tour de 4', a brand new cycling initiative, born from Chris's vision to change perceptions around stage 4 cancer following his own diagnosis. The event, on September 7, is to encourage those affected by cancer directly or indirectly to come together for this event. Anyone who can ride a bike is encouraged to take part and participation will help challenge perceptions and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK. The main events, based from Chris's Velodrome in Glasgow, comprise of a 56 & 37mile cycle challenge. I have been able to secure an entry but, of course, not being anything like a Chris Hoy cycling dynamo, I have opted for the lower milage route !! coward I hear you say !!!

Amongst the many many worthy Cancer Charities out there I have chosen to raise funds for the truly excellent Hospital that has been, and continues to treat me, Western Park Cancer Hospital, Sheffield. Please help me raise as much money as possible. Hopefully their will be thousands raised for many worthy charities, I would like to see Western Park benefit also.
