Please help me raise funds for Bertie’s amazing nursery! ❤️

Hi everyone,

I will be running the Tywardreath Trotter (7 miles) on Saturday 27 July and hope to raise some sponsorship for Bertie’s super special nursery, to help towards buying 2 new big chalkboards for their outdoor play area. The nursery is a registered charity, with a board of trustees and not-for-profit approach, with all funds raised going back into the nursery for the children and staff salaries.

I have chosen to raise funds for this wonderful nursery because it now holds such a special place in our hearts. For any parent and carer, trusting your child in the care of others is massive, and for me, due to my own childhood sexual abuse, putting my son into childcare so that I could go back to work after mat leave was really frightening. Bertie is a gorgeous, sensitive soul, and it was also a huge transition for him, to be away from us several days a week. But the kind and compassionate staff at West Looe Nursery have been wonderful from day one. Bertie just adores the staff, who embrace everything about him.

We need to shout louder about how much of a difference good childcare providers and their incredibly hard-working, dedicated staff make to our children’s and our own lives, whether it’s enabling parents and cares to work, providing parents and carers some respite, or being a safe and inclusive space to support children with their development, socialising and speech. So, I know times are extremely tough financially at the moment, so please only if you are able, I ask that you kindly consider supporting this cause close to our hearts, and help the nursery to buy 2 new chalkboards, that Bertie just loves to play with!
