West Lancs Scouts Malawi 2025

Hi my name is Paul Harris and I am deputy project leader for West Lancashire Scouts Malawi community project 2025. The project will work with an amazing orphan charity called Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO) developing and refurbishing existing buildings and centres used for education,medical and community meetings. Most of all the centres support the daily feeding of hundreds of children. In 2022 I was part of a project building a new centre and a number of facilities such including toilets, water harvesting, cooking stoves and playgrounds. A few months after we left the area was hit by a terrible cyclone which damaged infrastructure,crops, buildings and devastated families. Taking 30 Young people we plan to help rebuild, refresh and develop what we can to help hundreds of children in the area. Funds will be used towards my flights and to raise money for equipment and materials for us to use whilst in country.
