My husband Wes was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer last December. The cancer has spread to the brain, the lung, the pancreas, the liver and the bone. Prognosis is 6 months or hopefully longer. We have had numerous trips to Klamath Falls for radiation and chemo treatments, various appointments with Oncology and Ortho and still have a lot more to go. He has had surgery to install a rod to keep his right femur from breaking in several places, 2 liver biopsies and a chemo port installed. The last several months have been a whirlwind of appointments, emotions, conversations, crying sessions and trying to make sense of this all. I have taken leave of my job to take care of him but have yet to receive a dime from EDD. For those of you that know us, you know we are very private people and putting this out there is very hard to do. Asking for help is also not one of our strong points. We have been blessed with AMAZING friends who's selfless help, support, kindness and generosity is truly humbling. You know who you are! BUT.... we need help. I am no longer able to keep our heads above water with all the added expense of medication, treatments, travel, etc. etc. If you can find it in your hearts to helps us out I will promise to do my very best and pay if forward.
