On Friday August 11, 2023 my nephew, Wesley went into cardiac arrest. He was in the bathroom getting ready for school when my sister, brother-in-law and niece heard him fall. When they got to him his heart had stopped. My brother-in-law immediately started CPR until EMS arrived. He was air lifted to St Joseph Children’s Hospital to the Cardiac ICU. At this time the doctors have not determined what is causing him to have an irregular heart rhythm but they are starting him on heart medication to help regulate the rhythm because the last few days his heart has been going into V-Tac rhythm. He will be need an internal defibrillator before he can be discharged. He has a long road ahead of him and more test to determine why is heart is having irregular rhythms. I would like to help relieve them some financial stress, because neither my sister or brother-in-law have paid time off and at this point we do not know how much out of pocket expenses they are going to face on the medical front. I want them to be able to take them time off they need to help Wesley with his recovery and not stress over any finances. We have learned from the doctors that it is a miracle he survived, he was down for 24 minutes before they were able to get his heart in rhythm to transport to the hospital. He’s slowly coming around and becoming more aware and able to talk to us. I am asking for any help you can give, financial, prayers, or positive thoughts
