Build the Future: Wesley Mission School Expansion
Empowering Education, Building Tomorrow
The Wesley Mission School will serve as a cornerstone of education in Moheto, Kenya, providing quality learning opportunities for underprivileged children.
For the children of Moheto, a small village in Migori County, Kenya, education is not just a dream, it’s their only hope of escaping poverty. Public schools are overcrowded and under-resourced, while private schools are prohibitively expensive for most families.
Our mission is to create a safe space that allows students to develop essential life skills, embrace moral values, and support vulnerable groups, including young sexual minorities and girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM). We envision a future where every child can thrive in an inclusive and safe school environment. This school embodies our commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to promote quality education and gender equality.
Why This Matters
- 1.5 million school-aged children in Kenya are not in school due to poverty.
- One in two Kenyan girls will never attend school.
- One in three Kenyan 6th graders cannot read or write.
- Nine in ten children from poor households will fail to complete 8th grade.
To continue this mission, we aim to raise $30,000 for Phases 2 and 3 of our 6-phase project, Build the Future: Wesley Mission School Expansion.
