In August 2019, Wes Deeds was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that had, unfortunately, already spread to his liver. Wes has been fighting this nasty battle for the last few years. He fought through a tumor removal and went through many rounds of chemo. In speaking to him over the years and following his posts on Facebook I can only say, he approached this battle as only Wes would - with a cheer and full-of-life zeal that is unabashedly Wesley Henson Deeds.
Unfortunately, in the two weeks since he recently screened his liver, it is no longer functioning within the parameters for treatment to be effective. As most of you know, after some very tough conversations with doctors, oncologists, and his family, he and Alicia decided to end treatment and live life the best they can under their current conditions.
After speaking to Wes this week, I learned Alicia, Emma and Georgia will no longer have Wes’ income after he passes. While the restaurant industry has treated them well over the years, it unfortunately does not offer a lot of savings options. Although we will never be able to ease their emotional turmoil, as a brotherhood, we may be able to help ease their financial burden.
I’m hoping to raise the equivalent of $4000 a month (the same amount that will be missing after Wes is gone) for my dearest of friends. A dear brother who is loved by so many. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
