We're Building a Library For Detroit!
Donation protected
For far too long the powers that be has deprived of us of a decent education. I'm from the east side of Detroit, and I've witnessed my city underfund schools to the point that they had to be knocked down because of the neglect. The same thing happened to our libraries, and we have two on the east that I know about. One is Downtown, and the other is on 6 mile and gratiot, and just like many others in the city, they're so underfunded that can't afford to stay open for 7 days a week. Their computers are old and books aren't in the best condition either. I spent a lot of my time there as a kid because we couldn't afford the internet, and i'm sure it's the same for many families in east Detroit. This is why I'm taking a stand and will do my best to change this, thanks to my friend Ronnie for letting me use the building to do this because that was the hard part. The catch is, the building needs WORK, from pluming, roof work, heating and new carpet not to mention we have to build or buy book shelves. tbh we're gonna need much more then what I'll ask but I believe it will get us in a better place than we're at right now. I want to thank you all before you send anything. If you made it this far, Thank you. Most people do not care. If you can come out and help us rebuild, please let me know we need all hands on deck for this one. Have a beautiful day!
