Wendy's Fight for Custody!

Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and fellow humans - Wendy and Nick need your help!

BACKSTORY
As some of you may know, Wendy's nephews (ages 2.5 years and 1 year) have been removed from the care of Wendy's brother and his girlfriend due to drug activity in their home in Sitka, Alaska. The boys have since been placed in foster care. Wendy has personally visited the foster home and fears for the safety of her nephews. The foster parents have received infractions, and the boys are unfortunately still under their care. Because of the shortage of foster care in Alaska, such homes are still able to house displaced children. Wendy has hired a lawyer and is undergoing an uphill legal battle to obtain guardianship of the boys.

The process is complicated as Wendy is fighting against an Alaskan tribe. Her nephews are 1/64th Alaskan natives of the Su'naq tribe in Kodiak, Alaska. The tribe believes they have jurisdiction over the children and are asking the court to place the boys with a native Alaskan tribe couple in Kodiak which is 635 miles away from Sitka. The boys have never been to Kodiak, have no relation to this couple, and have never even met the couple. While Wendy appreciates the intention of preserving the tribe, she does not want her nephews to go through the grueling placement process and wants them to stay with family. She knows that her nephews would have a better chance at overcoming this traumatic situation in the loving home that she can offer in California.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
Wendy’s nephews have gone through enough! The boys are in desperate need of love, stability, and proper care. Which we all know Wendy and Nick are more than capable of providing! They have 3 beautiful girls of their own and are determined to make room for the 2 additional boys. Wendy has spent countless hours strategizing with her lawyer, attending court hearings, and agonizing over the boys' well-being. This has been an exhausting process, and she needs help.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
Your support would go towards all of the mounting bills that stand before Wendy and Nick! They've already spent money on plane tickets to and from California and Alaska and will need to buy many more for future court hearings. Tickets can cost well over $1,200 round trip. Wendy and Nick will need to purchase furniture and baby gear for the boys in order to pass a home inspection. They also have rising legal fees to pay. If (fingers crossed) the court grants Wendy guardianship of the boys, she and Nick will need to purchase a mini-van and eventually look for a larger home to accommodate a family of 7. They will also need to add daily expenses of diapers, food, clothes, toiletries, and childcare to their current budget.

We would appreciate any help you can give!! (In the event that the court does not grant Wendy custody of the boys, Wendy and Nick will return all funds that were not used during this process.)

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
