Given the unprecedented challenges caused by the global pandemic, it is more critical than ever to support the preservation of businesses along the Welton Street Corridor. The purpose of the crowdfunding campaign is to establish a fund to serve as an additional resource for those businesses struggling in these uncertain times. Funds raised through this initiative will be awarded via grants issued by a select Five Points Business Improvement District (FPBID) committee.
Purpose and Distribution of Funds:
· The purpose of this fund is to assist businesses along the Welton Street Corridor with sustaining and or resuming operations. Grants can be used to pay employees, business owners/managers, business rent and/or utilities, to purchase inventory, or to pay other business expenses.
· This fund will distribute grants equally among eligible businesses. Grant amounts are subject to the number of businesses that submit an application and the total funds raised by July 31st. The criteria to submit an application is as follows:
All entities that were in business as of January 1, 2020;
Must be located in properties that pay into the Five Points BID assessment (Welton Street between 20th and Downing).
