On 17th May 2025, our world changed forever. We lost our dad to cancer – a wonderful man who was the heart of our family. My mum lost her soulmate, my sister and I lost our hero. In the final week of his life, he was cared for by the most incredible team at Nightingale House Hospice, and we will never be able to thank them enough for the compassion, dignity, and love they showed him – and us – during those final days.

To honour his memory and to give back to the hospice that gave us comfort during the hardest time of our lives, I’m taking on the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge. This means climbing Snowdon, Cadair Idris, and Pen y Fan – all in one day – to raise vital funds for Nightingale House Hospice.

Why This Means So Much to Us

Nightingale House isn’t just a hospice – it’s a place filled with kindness, warmth, and humanity. They treated our dad with incredible care, making sure he was comfortable and at peace. They didn’t just look after him – they looked after all of us. The nurses and staff showed us nothing but empathy and support in every moment, and we are forever grateful for what they did.

Our challenge is a way of saying thank you, and helping ensure that other families can receive the same care and compassion that we did.

Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care services, completely free of charge, to patients and their families in North East Wales and the border areas. The hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising efforts to continue their work – offering medical care, counselling, bereavement support, and respite to those who need it most.
