WeLOVEPaul

We LOVE Paul!!!  He was taken from us Saturday February 29, 2020 in a freak snowmobile accident.  I'm his mom and his dad and I tried to save him.  Once the medics arrived they did their best but by the time the helicopter arrived he was already gone.  His organs have been donated and that night someone got his beautiful blue eyes.

What can I say about our boy?  He was perfect.  Equally beautiful inside and out.  In her time with us Ashley from Brenny Family Funeral Chapel opened her heart to let our stories, words and love for Paul pour in.  What she wrote makes us proud.

I survived a near fatal car accident when hit by a drunk driver over 30 years ago.  From that we have started a nonprofit 501(c)3 Acorn Hill Equine Assisted Activities or Therapies center to partner people with special needs and our ponies.

Our first rider went up December 1, 2016 and you can see a televised interview courtesy of LakeLand Public TV on YouTube.

People come to our Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (www.pathintl.org) Equine Assisted Activities or Therapies (EAA/T) centers because there is nothing else like it in the world. Unlike traditional therapy our work takes place in a barn, arena or trail in the woods with ponies or horses who play a key role.  Ironically, we have already designed a pilot program to add Mental Health services beginning this month.  Who knew?

So now, good people, I ask that you help us build that covered, heated arena.  You see, we live in central Minnesota and winter is long and harsh.  It's important to have a safe and comfortable place for us to work our healing arts.  We have a new purpose now, and that is to work with families battling grief, i.e. the loss of a beautiful child.

Our Mission Statement:
To strengthen, empower and enhance lives for people with special needs through Equine Assisted Activities or Therapies

Our Vision Statement:
Realizing the full potential of the horse to inspire stronger, happier
and healthier people in central Minnesota

If it's in your heart to give, please do.  And know you are now a part of us as we continue to share Paul's love.
