Welcome to New Ukrainian Students in YRDSB

Update April 23rd 2022

BIG THANK YOU for your generous support. Now we have our target reached and we covered the welcome baskets costs. The surplus will be used to cover free pizza and salad dinner for families (estimate of the dinner for ~100 people is ~$1500). I am excited we have started covering this expenses too. Our firm total fundraising target now is $2550 ( $1600 donated already as of 7:20pm today).

My name is Maryna Saidova, I am a part of the team organizing a welcome event and meet up for new families in YRDSB, who had to leave Ukraine because of Russian invasion.

We stand with people of Ukraine and are committed to providing a warm welcome and safe haven for the new students and their families.

I am fundraising for the welcome baskets which we plan to distribute to our new students on May 5th during our first community meet up. We will be providing food, arts and activities for children, share resources,

but most importantly an opportunity to connect with each other. My target is 21 baskets ($50 each).
