Welcome Neighbor Signs

Let's live up to the vision of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and show that Beechview welcomes and supports all our neighbors!  With the harsh political rhetoric directed particularly toward people who’ve emigrated from Spanish-speaking or Arab countries,  people of goodwill need to reach out and send a different message. These yard signs will send a message of warmth, welcome and respect. 

My mission is to put these signs all over Beechview to show that we love all our neighbors and do not condone hatred.  Beechview has many immigrant neighbors who need to know they are valued and appreciated for what they bring to our community. This action was started by the Goshen Mennonite commuity and is happening in other communities across the country.  I know we can do it here! 

I need to raise an initial $364 this week to have the first 50 yard signs printed.  If I can raise $600 I can get 100 printed!  It's my intention to provide the signs to anyone who is willing to put them in their yard or place of business.  There will be a suggested donation per sign of $10 which will go towards printing more signs, but the signs will be provided free for those who lack funds.  I would really appreciate your help getting the word out to raise funds as well as enlist our neighbors to display the signs.
