Help a family of Afghan refugees settle in America
Donation protected
Some of you may know that I recently hosted a family of Afghan refugees who just arrived in America. Fortunately, the resettlement agency has recently helped them move to an apartment of their own.
Tahir, Hamida, and their four (soon to be five!) kids Yusuf, Zobaida, Marya and Asif are so excited for their new home but they will need a lot of help getting off to a good start here, having only been able to bring a few things with them to the U.S. from their home in Afghanistan.
I am collecting money that will be given to the family directly to spend on what they decide they need most, but amongst other things, it will go towards:
- Infant supplies for the baby on the way
- School supplies for the older kids
- Home appliances, kitchenware, etc.
- Perhaps most important: a down payment on a van that can transport the whole family
Note: for the family's safety and privacy, we aren't publishing any photos of them.
Please give what you can to help them get started and make them feel welcome in their new home!
