Unter https://scams.at/webcam/timelapse/ ist seit Anfang 2024 eine Webcam eingerichtet, die mit einem Video die letzten beiden Stunden anzeigt, und den Bereich der neuen Donau ("Rinne") vor dem Segelzentrum Wien abdeckt.

Im Segelzentrum sind zwei Segelclubs anässig:

Beide Clubs bieten Möglichkeiten für den Segelsport, Trainings und Segeln für Kinder und Jugendliche.

Das Ziel der Webcam ist, einen Eindruck der herrschenden Wetter- und Segelbedingungen zu bekommen.

Für die Speicherung und Verarbeitung der Bilder und Videos werden Cloud-Server von Amazon Web Services (AWS) verwendet. Die monatlichen Kosten dafür belaufen sich auf ca. 20 EUR.

Ziel der Kampagne ist, die Finanzierung für den Betrieb für 2024 sicherzustellen.

which provides a view of the danube river in Vienna, Austria every minute. This spot of the danube is used for leisure activities, mainly sailing. Two clubs are located here, who offer sailing for youth and interested people.

The webcam saves a picture at an intervall, which is rendered into a timelapse video, so that the last 2 hours can be viewed. Rendering takes place every 15minutes. The purpose is to get an impression of the sailing conditions, and the development of the current weather.

The camera is free to use by everybody connected to the internet. It is also used by weathersites such as https://www.windy.com/-Webcams-Langenzersdorf/webcams/1714925252

To store the files from the camera, and to run the server where the rendering of the timelapse video takes place, results in cost of 20 EURs a month. The fundraiser shall help me to cover the cost of the webhosting to provide this services.

I donated the camera myself, which also cost 200 EURs to buy and install.
