We Walk By Faith Bible Church Liberian Projects

Pastor Roney Tucker Sr. first mission trip in 2010 got the opportunity to experience something he never dreamed of, that was going to Africa with the late Bishop McCarthy and Mary L. Hayes. Bishop passed in 2017 and Elder Mary L. Hayes passed in September of 2024. In 1996 Pastor Tucker met the Hayes’. Since then, We Walk By Faith Bible Church has been supporting the Hayes Mission.

The Hayes came back to the US due to the civil war in Liberia. Due to that war most of the buildings only the walls were left standing. Every year in January they would travel back to Africa to do repairs on the buildings. Some of the repairs Pastor Tucker and other volunteers undertook included putting roofs on buildings that only had sides up including the girl’s dormitory along with a few other buildings. Also, ensuring the children were getting proper nutrition and hearty meals.

Pastor Tucker, with the help of some donations, set out to make sure that every child had a new bed and mattress before he left Liberia. He also purchased beautiful new wooden tables and benches for the mission dining hall.

Pastor Tucker and 1st Lady Tucker will be going to Liberia, West Africa in January. The mission on this trip is to repair the ponds dam, clean the pond out so that it can be restocked with fish. Also, the pig encloser needs to be enlarged so they can obtain more pigs so the 80 children on the campus can have 3 meals a day.

For Pastor Tucker, his faith motivates his giving spirit. "To give boldly is being able to give even when you don't know the impact you will have, but you do it from your heart and you believe it is going to work and change someone's life."
