WE Unite: Helping to Cultivate Your Community

WE Unite is a grassroots organization that believes in connecting communities through philanthropy.
The organization provides structure and support for individuals to cultivate communities around fun and altruistic events while also responding to the all too common tragedies, illnesses and obstacles of community members.

The Numbers Behind the Cause
WE Unite has grown from 1 to 300 members and is celebrating their 10th anniversary in Spring of 2020. Over the past decade WE Unite has donated 2000lbs of food delivered to the food bank, 380 litres of soup to shelters, over 100k in financial donations direct to charities and local families, 1300 candles lit in memorial, 500 Christmas packages for marginalized community members, 230 meals to local families, 11 funerals catered, 550 runners for charity, 15k in Christmas gifts for families, 14,000+ hours of volunteerism and counting.

These numbers represent the impact our members have made; watch our video series to hear directly  from some of our members on the stories behind each number.

The Goal for Sustainability
This decade-long impact has garnered the attention of other communities who wish to create branches of WE Unite to serve their own communities. To fulfill these requests and respond to the growing need for support in our own community as more people become aware of our group, WE Unite has started a fundraising campaign to support the following 3 goals:

- Become a registered charity so we can more effectively gain sustainable support - $6,000 lawyers fees + $400 monthly accounting
- Create an online membership system to facilitate expansion to branches in other communities and provide tax receipts to our members - $8,000 website development + $120 monthly web and email hosting + $1,500  in startup costs for each new chapter (3 current requests)
- Establish a sister organization to support girls grades 6-12 in becoming philanthropists called WE2Unite to ensure this model continues to provide for communities in the future - $5,000 for start up marketing material + events + website content creation

$30,000 will allow us to launch our expansion and sustain the monthly costs for 1 year.

These goals will allow us to reach dozens of communities and thousands of Canadians.

Our goal is to launch our new membership system, finalize our standing as a charity and expand WE2Unite by Fall 2019.

The Future and Your Role In It
We are eternally grateful for the 10 years of kindness and service WE have received and cannot express how much it would mean to us for you to donate to our effort to create sustainability. Communities are made up of people who believe in each other; every donation to this campaign is viewed as a declaration of support for the strength and vibrancy of a community active in philanthropy. Please visit us at www.weunite.ca and send us an email if you would like to see a branch of WE Unite in your community in the future.
