We Support Katrina Robinson

We all know what happens when you have leaders who won't back down. There has been a long standing history of usurping black power through marring black leaders reputation and destroying their influence. In 2020, the federal government raided The Healthcare Institute and Katrina's home. She was later egregiously and maliciously charged with stealing from her own business... The business that she sacrificed and created to inject opportunity into an underserved community...The ONLY black owned and only woman owned licensed nursing school in the state. In following her case, it is apparent that the allegations are outrageous, violating, unjust, and simply untrue. They have painted her to be someone totally opposite of who we have known and loved Katrina for being.

Katrina Robinson is an upstanding citizen and a wonderful human being, going above and beyond for her constituents, students, family, or any random stranger. She is a light-bringer.  Nothing about her character, accomplishments or track record have aligned with any of the allegations she has been charged with. We all know Katrina to be the selfless, benevolent, hard-working, woman she is: from stepping up to be the one to solve the problems that plague our community, to clothing and housing some of her most misfortunate students, to creating community events to bring families together, or meeting constituents emergent needs in crisis.

We want to show Katrina that we support her and believe in her for who she really is. Your donations will be presented to her to contribute to her legal fees and her perseverant efforts to keep The Healthcare Institute open for the benefit of our community.

ABOUT Senator Katrina Robinson

Katrina Robinson has long served the Memphis community. She is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, politician, scholar, nurse, and a mother of two. She is and always has been an exemplary leader, displaying compassion for her community through change-making action.
Starting out as a single teenage mother, Katrina was determined to defy statistics and to not be a victim of her circumstances. Though she had to drop out of college to give birth to her son after her sophomore year, she soon returned in her true resilient fashion. She worked full time while taking almost 10 years to earn her first college degree in Marketing Management at the University of Memphis, many nights in class with her babies in tow. She went on to a successful career in business sales before losing her job in the economic downturn. She faced a number of challenges during that time, but ultimately decided to complete an accelerated program to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduating, Katrina went to work in an inner city teaching hospital. Katrina realized the need for more healthcare professionals, and, just as quickly, she realized the lack of opportunities in her underserved community for those who wanted to get into the field.  This gave way to her founding The Healthcare Institute in 2015. She worked sacrificially to secure funding for her vision to provide education to her community, writing and securing a federal grant for $1.6M .

The Healthcare Institute has helped over 800 and counting individuals from all walks of life to become healthcare professionals and better their lives. In her journey to provide educational opportunities to her community, Katrina uncovered a myriad of issues that she wanted to tackle like homelessness, adult literacy, criminal justice reform, and women's rights. She decided to take action and ran for office. In 2018, Katrina was elected to Tennessee state senate. Since she has been in office, Katrina's main focus has been to uplift and empower her community, through her platform. She is an advocate for women's rights and has a passion for education. She has also been a key part in juvenile justice reformation and she is constantly working to empower the black economy. She has been extremely vocal in her leadership, standing up to injustices to the community and boldly challenging the status quo.
