We Support Jingyao and MeToo in China

更新：我们想在第一时间向Jingyao传达关心和祝贺，向自案件曝光四年以来投入无限精力的无名志愿者表示感激。这是我们共同的胜利。案件初期，我们曾许诺将陪同Jingyao走到最后一步。但现在远非我们支持jingyao的终点，更不是我们为米兔发声的终点。回顾过去四年的中国Metoo运动，此次和解的意义非凡——这是法律性的结果，是对刘强东性侵事实的锁定，对刘强东隐瞒真相的确认。个案或许可以因和解终止，metoo运动永远前进。除去前期支出的费用，剩下的募款将会被用于继续跟进、支持其ta米兔案件。

We are a group of Chinese feminist activists, community organizers, professionals, and students who voluntarily decided to travel to Minneapolis to support a sex assault survivor, Jingyao Liu, at the upcoming trial between her and Richard Liu & JD.com. The jury trial, which will be held at Hennepin County 4th District Court, is set to begin on October 3rd, 2022 and is expected to last four weeks.

This case is considered one of the most high-profile China's #Metoo cases because it involves China's billionaire Richard Liu, who was highly admired as a successful entrepreneur. People in China and in the diaspora are eager to learn the truth, but Jingyao's story was constantly censored and blocked out. The voices of her supporters, including many of us, are silenced as well. This is why we are determined to be at the court in person this time, use our presence to shout out our support and carry out the mission of sharing timely updates and untempered information from the trial to the public. We believe Jingyao, and her story needs to be heard and hopefully given justice in return.

We are looking for support and donations for this 4-week-long trip. The raised fund will be used to cover the volunteers' travel expenses, room & board, equipment renting and labor.

2022年9月9日，Jingyao 诉刘强东和京东民事诉讼案在明尼苏达州亨内平中心进行了长达9小时的庭前会议（Pre-trial conference)。Jingyao 的律师 Wil Florin 在庭后接受采访表示：

“我知道 Jingyao 非常感激美国和中国的朋友的支持。……很多人只能听到刘强东一方的讲述，Jingyao 一方的声音被审查、删除，这让支持 Jingyao 更加重要。在反抗这些权势的过程中，Jingyao 展现了许多勇气。”

“……亨内平县的陪审团将会听取本案的事实。我们乐观地认为，当陪审团看到事情全貌，陪审团会认为 Jingyao 被伤害了。不仅是被2018年8月在亨内平县发生的事伤害，还有整件事发生时，权势者如何利用媒体污蔑她。”

参与庭前会议旁听的 Jingyao 支持者之一 Cocoa，在庭后写下如下记录：

“正式的庭审将在十月持续一整个月，这段长达三年的诉讼，教会我的是要去相信。相信素未谋面的人可以为了公正聚集到一起，相信陌生的留言也能产生莫大的鼓舞，相信各人心中自有一个圆满。不管结果如何，我的圆满就是我不缺席。最后一程也拜托大家了。”

正因为Jingyao与支持者们的声音不断的在中文圈被审查与删除，我们感到在法庭现场的人身支持和及时的进展分享尤为重要。 希望大家能一起用行动和捐款，支持去到现场和在线下和线上组织支援活动的志愿者们。本次筹款将被用于支付志愿者的出行，食宿以及其他费用。
