In less than 12 months, more than 1,000 people have participated in We Outside programming across hikes, workshops, gatherings, and outdoor experiences throughout Cincinnati.
And beyond those numbers, countless others have passed through our storefront to connect, create, rest, laugh, learn, or simply feel part of something.
People didn’t just come for a hike. They came because, for the first time, the outdoors felt like it belonged to them.
We Outside was built on a simple but radical belief: you shouldn’t have to fit a mold to find your place in nature.
We’ve built a home for the creative, the curious, and the people who haven’t always seen themselves reflected in outdoor culture. What started as events has grown into something much bigger: a real community hub where connection happens naturally and showing up is enough.
Why This Space Matters
Our storefront is more than a shop.
It is the anchor for everything we do. It’s where workshops happen, ideas are born, friendships form, and people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the outdoors.
It is a visible, physical reminder that spaces like this deserve to exist in Cincinnati.
A place where you don’t have to overthink it.
A place where showing up is enough.
A place where community happens naturally.
Without this hub, we lose our ability to offer a consistent and accessible starting point for the people who need it most.
The Crossroads
Thanks to the support we’ve already received from our community, we’ve been able to extend our lease through the end of July.
That support alone has already proven something important: people want this space to exist.
But while we’ve built real momentum, we still need long-term stability to keep growing without raising prices or limiting accessibility.
That’s why we’re leaning into community-supported economics.
We believe spaces like this should be held by the people who believe in them.
Your support helps us keep experiences affordable, lower barriers to entry, and continue building a version of outdoor culture where more people feel welcome to participate.
The Roadmap
We believe in transparency.
To operate this space for one full year, our core operational costs total approximately $18,000. That includes rent, utilities, insurance, and the foundational expenses that keep this space active and accessible.
Phase 1 | $10,000 — The Leg Up
This secures our next stage of stability and gives us the breathing room to continue programming, organizing, and growing beyond the summer months.
Phase 2 | $18,000 — The Foundation
This fully covers one year of essential operating costs and keeps our storefront community-powered and accessible long-term.
Phase 3 | $20,000+ — The Community Buildout
This allows us to reinvest directly back into the space through physical improvements, infrastructure, seating, programming tools, and creative upgrades that help transform this into a lasting cultural hub for Cincinnati.
More Than a Contribution
This is a vote for the kind of city we want to live in.
One where community spaces exist outside of consumption.
One where people can gather without pressure.
One where the outdoors feels welcoming, creative, and connected to culture.
If you’ve ever experienced a We Outside moment, or simply believe spaces like this matter, this is your opportunity to help hold it up with us.
We’ve built the momentum.
Now we’re asking the community to help us keep the doors open and the vision moving forward.
We Outside is not just about getting outside. It’s about creating a culture where being outside feels natural again.
Help keep We Outside community powered.
