** Help Us Keep Our Home **

I’m reaching out with an urgent plea from the bottom of my heart. We find ourselves in a critical situation that threatens not only our home but the sanctuary we’ve created and home to 180 animals.

We’ve received notice from our landlord: due to arrears, we must raise a substantial amount of money by the end of the month. Housing crisis has caused a dramatic decrease of sponsorships and supports leaving us financially struggling. We have created programs to fund our rescue to secure the future of DRU financially which has come together amazingly , however we need to get past our arrears in order to move forward and to save our home.

Despite our relentless efforts—our director using personal funds, and pouring our hearts and soul into our mission—we find ourselves $10,000 short. Each day has been a struggle, and we have exhausted every possible avenue to keep afloat.

This is not a plea for pity; it’s an honest expression of our reality. Our director has always tried to carry this burden silently, giving everything she can before asking for help. The truth is, we’re facing an urgent deadline that we simply cannot meet without your help.

We have just a couple of weeks to prevent losing our property. Our efforts to secure our home have consumed every resource, and we’re now unable to think straight with the overwhelming pressure. If we cannot raise the funds, we will be forced to lose the sanctuary we’ve built for our animals.

Additionally, our miniature pony, Jake, urgently needs surgery due to a collapsed trachea, which will cost between $2,000 and $3,000 , Jake is struggling to breath and this surgery is crucial, we need to raise this on top of all the rental arrears also.

We need your help. We aim to raise at least $12,000 in the coming week to cover our rent and secure Jake’s surgery. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our goal. Our mission has always been to create a steady, reliable income for our sanctuary, and we are on the brink of achieving that. But we can’t do it without your support to help get over the line.

update 15/11/24 - Message from founder ! FIRST TARGET MADE ! SECOND TARGET HERE WE GO! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!!!! I CANT BELIEVE WE MADE OUR FIRST TARGETWe truely didn’t think this was possible, so many people struggling right now and to get this far!

DRU has borrowed $16,000 to cover the other part of debt. Total arrears was $27,569 . The money that was lent to us was from two amazing team members of DRU who gave all they had but need it back . We are trying to now raise the full amount of our debt so we can once and all cover our debts and no longer be in the red .

update as of 19/11/24 - we are beyond grateful!!!! We can not thank you amazing supporters for such an incredible effort is saving our home! you have all done so incredible that we can now set THIRD TARGET ! ( we don’t think this was even close to being achieved ) You guys have managed to raise enough to get us through this month! Our animals still have a home THANKS TO YOU. We have borrowed a lot of money to cover costs of care , rentals , and vetting, and we are now trying to raise our third target! Clear all our debts so we can get back to saving lives!
