I am starting this go fund me for my sister and her husband. Kelly and Christian Bauman. They are both hard working professionals who work in the medical field are are ALWAYS helping others. Christian is a nurse and Kelly works as a chef for the elderly. Even though they're family I have never met such giving, compassionate people. I set up this go fund me because they have fell on some hard times. Here is what happened in my sister's own words.
Around 230ish on Monday, Kelly, was in a very serious car accident. A woman failed to yield at a light and turned into Kelly's path in which he hit her at 45-50mph. He then hit a pole. It's a miracle both of them survived. Kelly was taken to Erlanger North where he had xrays taken of his chest, knee, and hand. His knee required stitches but neither his hand or knee were broken. He does have 3 fractured ribs. At 930 Monday night he was transported to Memorial for a CT Scan. The Drs were concerned about internal injuries to his organs because he was bruised so bad on his abdomen and very concerned about his back. He got back to Erlanger North approximately 230am Tuesday morning. When the CT results started coming in the Dr called me to his station to take a look at them. Kelly has a severe break in his back. The Dr states that he was shocked that the impact didn't paralyze him from the waist down. At 6am, Tuesday morning, Kelly was transferred to Erlanger downtown with a consult with their ortho and neuro team. I had went home to change clothes and grab somethings. I got up to hospital about 8am where we were informed that Erlanger was not able to perform the surgery he was required. So they began searching for a hospital that had an opening and could perform the surgery. Vanderbilt, although our first choice, was full to capacity and could not take him. I went home to get some sleep while we were waiting to see where he would be transferred to. Knoxville was also full. At 230pm, Kelly called and said he was going to Atlanta. They arrived to get him around 430. My son, Bryan, picked me up at 630 and we drove straight to Atlanta. He was in ER until about 230 this morning until they finally put us in a separate, quite unit with some awesome staff. We are currently waiting for them to do an MRI then we go from there. You know we constantly want to ask what when why questions. The Dr reminded me last night that we are gonna start.with the MRI. Thank you for all the prayers, texts, calls. We appreciate them. When you pray today say a prayer for Kelly that
The surgery will be done soon and there's no complications.
That everything goes so well that they will transfer us back to chattanooga soon.
That we don't lose our jobs. We have missed so much work lately. We do have amazing bosses.
I asked Kelly if he needed prayers for anything and he said just to get him fixed.
Pray for me too.
They are currently at a hospital in Atlanta waiting on surgery. They would never ask for anything. Please help them if you can
