Help BUBA get a Big Ass Fan!

We will desperately need the Evaporative Cool from "Big Ass Fans".  We are converting an old warehouse into a 1st class athletic training center that will be FREE to the youth of Baltimore City. We are now realizing how hot and humid it is in this unconditioned space without much ventilation. This is a reasonable low cost solution.

During the midst of this civil unrest, I've gotten an outpouring of empathy from people who want to help this systemic racism within the historically oppressed communities of Baltimore.  What I have witnessed on television is basically what I have been dealing with on a daily basis. Thanks to your generous donation and commitment, all of your funds have gone to the important work we are doing to ensure food security, racial equality, social justice, and greater access to education through sports.

As the nation reckons with institutional racism, many are left wondering: what can they do? Tens of thousands of people have already shown up to protest across the globe - in both big cities and rural towns - to demand racial justice and sweeping changes, from police reforms, to defunding the institution and allocating budget funds to community groups.  People ask me how they can help and how they can show support during these unjust times?  There are ways to engage with BUBA from educating yourself to volunteering, spreading awareness, and donating money. Here is what I have been sending to prospective donors:

Our country is sadly once again fighting for equal rights for all. During our country's continued fight for human and equal rights, Baltimore Urban Baseball Association (BUBA) is in a unique position to utilize our human capital and new facility to make a difference in our local community, and you can play an integral part.  BUBA is a non-profit organization, established in 2016, whose mission is to transform the lives of Baltimore City Youth facing adversity, by providing a nurturing and supportive environment, while leveraging baseball training and development.  Ultimately, BUBA will make a meaningful impact in the City of Baltimore utilizing the sport of baseball/softball to provide leadership, academic enrichment, college access and social mobility. BUBA is a 100% volunteer grassroots organization based in one of the nations most disenfranchised urban centers. BUBA's volunteers are made up of men and women from the City of Baltimore, and include former collegiate and professional softball and baseball players, along with high school coaches and community members.

BUBA recently secured funding to open a 20,000 sq. ft. top of the line youth center in Baltimore City. We plan to open this summer with the financial support of your organization. The youth center will be open daily and will provide FREE physical training, softball/baseball skills development, academic tutoring and enrichment services. It will be a safe and protected place for at-risk youth to go, their home away from home. Many of our kids do not have stable father figures, positive role models, and emotional support as well.  BUBA is embarking on a uniquely progressive blueprint, that will make history, and will become a replicated model of engagement for disadvantaged youth geared to reclaiming baseball skills and love for "The American Pastime."  In addition, BUBA will use the facility as a non-profit "neighborhood collective," hosting several youth-based organizations to share the space and provide much needed services.
