We Lost Our Home, Some of Our Pets, and Our Stability. Please Help Us Rebuild
In May, our house burned down. In one day, we lost our home, everything inside it, and two of our beloved pets. The grief from losing them is something we still live with every day.
With our Insurance policy, we are hitting our limits, inflation has killed us. Our home is not habitable still. We've used some of our property payout for our home rebuild, still not enough.
Our children are still processing the trauma of that fire losing their home, their pets, and their sense of safety all at once. As parents, it’s heartbreaking to watch them struggle while we try to be strong for them.
Since the fire, our financial stability has also collapsed. I was laid off due to restructuring and have been actively searching for work in this difficult job market. Most recently, my husband learned he will also be laid off after more than 13 years with his company. We are both looking for work while trying to keep our family afloat.
Right now, we are grieving, exhausted, and scared... but still doing everything we can to rebuild.
Funds raised will be used for:
- Replacing essential items lost in the fire. Stove, Fridge, Laundry.
- Supporting our children as they continue to process trauma
- Bridging the gap while we actively search for new employment
