WE LOST NEARLY £10K TO SCAMMERS, IT'S SO HORRIBLE

Hi, my name is Harriet. If someone had told me that of all the reasons to create a crowdfund, this would be my reason, I really would've been gobsmacked. But here we are.

Like there are literally no words to describe how myself and my husband have been feeling mentally and physically these last few weeks; it's as if someone removed all the color from our lives, and everything is now just grey and dull and meaningless

Anyone who knows me and my husband knows we are hardworking. Literally, 2 jobs each and a side hustle because we want a good life for ourselves, and hardwork is always rewarded

A few weeks back, my husband was so happy, as if he had won the lottery (I wish he had); he told me he had found a great opportunity and thought this could help us clear our debts. So as you would, I researched it for myself because you know you can't trust anyone these days. And all my research came back looking great and backing what he said. And to even give us more assurance, it was referred to him by a 'friend'. Everything about the company checked out. You can look it up; CJ Affiliate is a legit company. He had built a great relationship with this 'friend,' and this 'friend' even went as far as assisting him financially with this new venture

Long story short, now we decide to withdraw everything we have invested, about three-quarters of that being loans from friends and brokers and our little savings. NOBODY, NOTHING, NO HUMAN COULD HAVE PREPARED US FOR WHAT WE FOUND NEXT. Once again, the company is very real, but when we called them to withdraw, we were told there is no account. I'm sorry, Miss, please check again. There must be a mistake; let me spell it again, please.

Lo and behold, we never ever had an account with CJ but instead with a company posing to be CJ. I LITERALLY WANTED TO DIE THERE AND THEN. I lost the will to exist. Tough is an understatement for what life has been like since then. Everything was painful but there was no physical pain.

We've been smiling and carrying on and just working even harder to pay this all off and move on with life. But it is not easy. Every morning seems harder than the one before. It's like working and dumping the money in a bottomless pit.

 

I've lost £300, £500 but a whole £9k plus of money that doesn't even belong to me? I don't know where to start.

 

So here we are today, putting all shame and pride aside and bracing ourselves for any backlash this may bring us. We really have nothing to lose. There's no will to live, no strength to keep working day and night every day. We just want a way out of this. And we're just hoping that as there are people out there with dark evil hearts scamming innocent people of their hard earned money, that there are also people out there with compassion and empathy who can see us and help us.

 

The thing about getting scammed is that you literally start to see so clearly after all is said and done, then you feel so so stupid for missing it, but it happens to the best of us and it is a terrible thing. I don't know if i can trust again though, not like i did much before

We went in trying to get ourselves out of debt and a better life but we're in a worse situation than before and no one deserves to suffer for such a a horrible unexpected thing.
