We Started in Love… and Ended in War

To those with kind hearts and living consciences…

Before the war, I was about to start a beautiful new chapter. I was engaged to the love of my life, and our wedding was only a month away. Everything was ready: my bridal belongings, the wedding hall, invitations, our furnished home — every item chosen with love and care. Life was full of details that made our days feel magical.

Then, everything changed in one moment.

The war began — not just any war, but a brutal, devastating one. Within a week, we were forced to flee our home. I left everything behind: my clothes, my memories, my wedding dreams, my hope. Three weeks later, our family home — where all my belongings were — was bombed and destroyed. Then the wedding hall was hit, and eventually, our entire neighborhood was erased from existence.

Despite the pain, we decided to get married — because there was nothing left to wait for.

Soon after, I found out I was pregnant — not in peace, but during a horrific night of bombardment. Glass shattered, doors flew, everything collapsed. We rushed to the basement. There, I felt unbearable pain. Later, I discovered it was the first sign of pregnancy.

My pregnancy became a journey of constant suffering. We were displaced over 20 times, with no privacy, no proper food, no medicine. I walked long distances in pain, sometimes passing dead bodies. I stayed strong only for my unborn child.

When it came time to give birth, the conditions were unimaginable. No clean water, no proper food, no vitamins, no milk for the baby. We were under siege. I breastfed my newborn without drinking a drop of water. My body broke down, and we had to flee again shortly after. I was still recovering from childbirth, walking for hours under the blazing sun, which led to serious complications that lasted months due to lack of nutrition and medical care.

But that wasn’t the end…

Before the war, my husband had worked hard to build his own business. It was growing rapidly and bringing in good income. He bought a house, and we were about to buy a car. Our life was finally stable. But in one moment, everything vanished. His entire business and savings were destroyed. Years of effort and success disappeared, like they never happened.

And there is no greater heartbreak… than seeing everything you’ve built fall apart in front of your eyes — not because you did anything wrong, but simply because you were born in an occupied land.

And today… our baby has turned one year old. At this age, he should be enjoying fruits, vegetables, meat, and playing in parks, discovering life with laughter. Instead… he doesn’t even know the names of foods. He has never tasted them.

We couldn’t even get him a single can of baby milk. He goes to sleep crying from hunger, waking up again and again through the night in pain. And I — as his mother — have nothing to give him. No food, no solution, no way to stop his suffering.

His teeth are delayed. His walking is delayed. He lacks calcium, and his growth is affected. And every day, it breaks my heart to watch him suffer, knowing I cannot give him what he deserves.

We are homeless, jobless, foodless, and hopeless. Even if the war ends, the destruction is far too deep to fix quickly.

We are reaching out — asking for any help. Any support, no matter how small, could change our lives. It could bring back dignity, safety, and a future for our child.
We were displaced to an unknown place with no means to survive.
What made it even harder was having my son with me—carrying his responsibility while danger surrounded us from every side.

We arrived in an empty land with no shelter, no water, no food… not even a tent.
On that same day, my husband’s father was martyred.
It was a terrible day—we lost someone dear, we were displaced, and we slept on the street with no shelter.

The suffering continues now in the tent.
All I hope for is to give my son a safe, quiet home… a dignified life that brings him peace and makes up for everything we have been through.
