Dear friends,

Today I celebrate 20 years free from active addiction. A huge part of my recovery is because, in my darkest hour when all felt lost, someone like Rhonda Wright showed me there was still a way out. On this milestone day, I want to shine a light on her.

Rhonda is our friend and our sister in recovery. For 23 years she has touched the lives of countless people, walking beside us through pain, shame, and struggle, helping us find hope and rebuild our lives. Even now, in the midst of her own devastating season, she has not missed a beat in being of service to those still suffering.

After more than a decade at the same job, Rhonda is out of work and fighting to stay afloat while waiting for a new job to begin. She has done everything asked of her, earned her Peer Recovery Specialist certification, applied everywhere she can, but her past is slowing the process and time has run out.

It took weeks to convince her to let us create this fundraiser. She is proud and rarely asks for help, but we reminded her that community means showing up for one another. I would like to propose that now it might be our turn to rally around her the way she has always rallied around us.

Your gift will help her keep her home, cover essentials, and breathe while she waits for work to come through. If Rhonda has touched your life or inspired you, sharing this along with a short story about how she impacted you would go far in helping others see this and support this effort.
