LVAD And You, Ltd. is a non-profit organization that helps those with a Ventricular Assist Device [Artificial Heart Pump]. We provide clothing that those of us wear to hold our batteries and control unit so that we can lead a somewhat normal life. We also provide assistance for those in need of help with food, medications, transportation to and from Dr. Appointments. Having A Ventricular Assist Device [VAD] is a life support device that requires electricity 24 hours a day. Those of us with this device are either on a Heart Transplant list or we are on Destination Therapy [device in us until we pass on]. The physical, emotional and psychological issues that all of us with a VAD are all consuming, and assistance is needed for many to have the ability to live a life that is as close to normal as possible.
