UPDATE:
Our CEO David and Candidate Champion Paul have signed up to complete the Manchester 10K at the end of May.
Our aim is to raise awareness of our work and help to rebuild lives through the power of the Pasty!
HMPasties Foundation supports the work of HMPasties which is more than just a pasty & pie shop. It's a socially minded business on a mission to reduce re-offending by providing meaningful employment to ex-offenders. Each pasty, pie, and sausage roll is lovingly handcrafted by people who are given a second chance in life, and every bite supports our cause.
Set up by a former prisoner, Lee Wakeham with a simple mission:
To reduce reoffending by providing meaningful employment and training to ex-offenders. Through our charitable foundation, HMPasties Foundation, we offer support and guidance to those who want to turn their lives around. By working with us, our employees gain valuable skills, rebuild their confidence, and contribute to the community in a positive way.
We aim to place 20 people with convictions into meaningful and sustainable employment over the next 12 months. With re-offending costing the UK economy in excess of £18billion per year, every person diverted from crime creates a safer, pro-social society which is good for all.
This fundraiser is to enable the Foundation to continue its vital work.
For every...
£10 raised will pay for a candidate to gain a food hygiene qualification
£20 raised will pay for a week long travel pass.
£50 raised will pay for a candidates PPE to commence a work trial in the bakery.
£150 raised will pay for an initial consultation with a therapist if the candidate has encountered trauma in their lives.
One of our former participants "D" said of their time with the bakery and the foundation.
"I can’t thank everyone enough for the help in enabling me to move on with my life. I am so grateful, especially in organising the counselling which is helping me so much. I am now thriving working for a charity supporting other people with convictions"
