We Care for Clara
Donation protected
Clara was born with a rare condition called Giant Congenital Nevus. The nevus took up 80% of her back and had to be removed immediately in fear it would turn cancerous. Because she was a newborn, and they did not have enough skin to stitch back, they had to do a 3 month long procedure where they put 4 expanders (balloons) into her body to stretch the skin. This procedure is long, uncomfortable, painful, and risky for a baby. After fighting Roseola and Covid from so much hospital exposure, Clara's body began rejecting the expanders after 2 months of having them in. The surgeons decided to immediately take the expanders out and hope they would have enough skin to stitch back together.
After the surgery, the surgeon delivered good news and bad new. Good news: They were able to cut out the whole Nevus. Bad news: There was BARELY enough skin to stitch together, but long term, it would effect her growth, so they will have to do this expansion process ALL OVER AGAIN in one year after her body heals from the trauma.
Which brings us to today. There are 2 months left before Clara's surgery in July and spirits are low. Clara's little newborn brother, Easton, is also going through some medical challenges where the family is drowning in medical bills.
My name is Mariely and I am coordinating a We Care For Clara movement to help this beautiful, sweet family. The Moshenko family are the most strong, humble, giving, and caring family we know. They are the first ones to help in any situation, despite all the challenges they themselves face.
The first and foremost thing we ask is prayer for this beautiful family. If you feel in your heart to do more, we have set up this Go Fund Me to help with hospital bills from Clara's surgery. Because insurance does not cover a lot of Clara's hospital bills, they will have to pay around $40,000 for all the upcoming expenses.
We appreciate the prayers and any donations. We love you!
