Tax deductible
We Are Gyumri will be hosting its 2nd Annual Summer Camp titled, "Armatner''. Armatner, which translates to roots, was selected as the theme of the summer camp to focus on our history, culture, and preservation of our national identity while understanding and connecting to our "Armatner".
The summer camp will take place at the Shirvanian Youth Center (SYC) in Gyumri, Armenia from July 19 - July 31. The program is free of charge to all participants between the ages of 12 - 18 years old. The camp will be organized by SYC staff with the help of the Mina Shirvanian Scholarship recipients, AYF Gyumri Youth members, and volunteers from Gyumri. The participants will learn about Armenian history, national dance, revolutionary songs, first aid training, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities such as hiking.
The summer camp was launched last summer, with the acknowledgment of the 5th anniversary of the Shirvanian Youth Center. The first year themed “We Are Shushi”, had 53 participants and all of the counselors were Mina Shirvanian Scholarship recipients. The participants spent their days learning songs about our national heroes, dances, holding competitions, watching movies, and playing games.
We would appreciate your support in raising funds to allow our summer camps to continue free of charge to all participants and give the kids of Gyumri an opportunity to play, learn, and grow in a safe environment!
Thank you for all your support!
