This project aims to promote equitable access to play for vulnerable and low-income sectors and explore the importance of play for children and seniors. The study draws on several sources, including research on the impact of parents' playfulness on children's emotion regulation and vocabulary skills, a study on prescribing
outdoor play as a way to promote physical activity, community arts-based parent programs to enhance parent-child interaction, reflection on idleness as a form of play and leisure, exploration of play therapy with adults, and examination of the implementation outcomes of Sit Down and Play, a primary care-based intervention. The project proposes strategies such as community-based play programs, outdoor play initiatives, arts-based interventions, and play therapy to increase access to play for underserved communities and enhance children and seniors to the benefits of play. The goal is to promote a holistic approach to play and its benefits for the overall well-being of individuals from vulnerable communities.
