Family Update
I wanted to take a moment to share an important update about both Mom and Dad.
Dad has been out of work for the past several months (since march) due to ongoing medical issues that prevent him from driving. Mom has recently been diagnosed with severe kidney disease. She is scheduled for a biopsy next week and will likely begin dialysis within the next two weeks once her port is placed. Dialysis will require her to spend 3 days each week, 4–5 hours at a time, hooked to treatment. This will unfortunately reduce her ability to work and further cut into their household income.
As you can imagine, the financial strain is becoming overwhelming, and there is a real risk that their living situation could be affected.
To help ease the burden, we will continue to share their GoFundMe, and we’re also planning a fundraiser t-shirt for Mom in support of her kidney disease journey. We would also love to collaborate with our local community—especially biker groups—for a fundraiser poker run or any other event that could help raise support during this time.
We are so grateful for the generosity and kindness already shown. Now more than ever, we need our community to rally together for Mom and Dad as they face this difficult chapter.
Thank you for your continued love, prayers, and support.
Supporting Wayne & Cindy Watkins
Wayne and Cindy Watkins have long been pillars of our community — always the first to lend a hand, support local businesses, and help organize events like parades. Wayne has also proudly served as City Police Commissioner in the past, dedicating himself to the well-being of our town.
Unfortunately, Wayne has been facing medical challenges that have prevented him from working, and he’s been unable to continue driving for his employer at this time. Though they would never ask for help themselves, the truth is — they need us now.
Cindy is working hard to make ends meet, but the weight of medical expenses and everyday costs is becoming overwhelming. Any financial support will go directly toward helping them keep their basic utilities on, cover food and gas, and ease the burden they’re carrying.
Let’s come together to show Wayne and Cindy just how much this community — the one they’ve given so much to — cares for them in return.
